Get Involved
Posted: April 17, 2010
As a small grassroots non-profit, we rely heavily upon the involvement of our members and the local community. Whether a Denali Borough resident, a seasonal employee in Alaska, or a one-time visitor to Denali National Park, there are numerous ways to get involved and contribute toward steering Denali’s future:
1. Become a member of Denali Citizens Council (DCC). Benefits include:
- Bi-monthly newsletter highlighting current issues of concern, recent decisions affecting Denali National Park and its surroundings, news events and opinions from our board and members.
- Member alerts sent via email to announce upcoming deadlines for comment, news alerts, opportunities to be involved, etc.
- Annual meeting, a time to enjoy gathering with the DCC community to discuss the issues and get the latest information.
2. Stay informed of the issues by checking the DCC website regularly and participating in the public process. Use the DCC calendar to keep track of comment deadlines and public meetings.
3. Make your voice heard by commenting at meetings, writing comments, and alerting DCC to issues that concern you. Talking points and/or DCC’s position are available on the website for reference.
4. Discuss the issues with DCC and others who care about the future of Denali and the region. Make comments on the news posts you find on this site, and join us for informal conversation and discussion on our Facebook page.
