Borough Assembly seats in this election::
Baxter Mercer, Seat F, running against Teresa Hall, Seat F, Neal
Laugman, Seat D, Bob Shelton, Seat B, Jennifer Skinner, Seat G and
Cynthia Trytko, Seat I.
School
Board elections are also taking place.
Mary Pearson and Jenasy Jensen are running unopposed.
For those of you who have paid attention to what has been happening
on the Borough level in the last year, you know how incredibly important
one vote is. For those of you who are living elsewhere in the U.S.,
it is just as important for you to vote in your local elections.

Fish & Game Advisory Committee Meeting is Friday, November 21,
2003 at 6:30 p.m. in Healy at Tri-Valley Community Center. Please
attend if you can.
This is
a voting meeting. There are 3 seats up for re-election. Those individuals
are Rick Stickle, John Bessette & Gary Wood (alternate seat).
If anyone is interested in being on this board, call Mike Pearson
in Anderson (456-6225). Anyone who shows up to the meeting can vote
on this election.

DNR
Moratorium on all new CBM Leases
The
state DNR in early October put a moratorium on all new Coalbed methane
lease applications. This means that all plans that Usibelli has
for Coalbed Methane exploration are on hold. We will keep you aprised
of new developments as they occur.
DNR
is holding open meetings on the MatSu Valley leases in Anchorage
at the Atwood Bldg (550 W. 7th Ave) at 1:30 pm on the following
dates: Monday, Nov. 3; Thurs., Nov. 6, Thurs., Nov. 13.
