Shallow Gas Exploration will begin next year in the Healy area. Alaska DNR is now accepting public comments and will be writing a specific lease agreement this winter. Although full scale development is years in the future, the time to guide how this development will occur is now!

Celia Hunter's stories are remembered by KUAC's Amy Meyer: Wednesday August 13, 7:30 PM

For two years Celia Hunter, told stories of her early years in Denali as the weekly feature "Fairbanks Pioneer" on the radio news program Alaska Edition. Since her passing, radio host Amy Meyer has complied a CD of nine favorite stories about Denali Park and the early years of Camp Denali. Amy will be presenting them Wednesday evening at the Denali Foundation's Charles Sheldon Center.

Proceeds from the sale of the CD will directly support the Celia M. Hunter Conservation Leadership Endowment Fund established by the Alaska Conservation Foundation.

Celia Hunter was one of the founding members of DCC in 1974.
