Management Plan (1986)
Land Protection Plan(1986)
provided specific guidance for land protection within Denali National
Park. Specific policies of this plan included:
Identification
of lands suitable for wilderness designation
Purchase of private land holdings in the Kantishna and maintenance of
the existing level of recreational use
Reduction
of private traffic on the park road and establishment of limits to vehicular
access.
Since publication of
the General Management Plan, several planning documents have been
developed to carry out the purposes of the plan.These include the
Front Country Development Concept Plan, Access Regulations addressing
road use limits, The Wilderness Designation EIS, the Southside Development
Concept Plan, and the Cumulative Impacts of Mining EIS.
Currently the Park Service is developing planning documents on important
issues of access and utilization, including: The Front
Country EA,
covering the architecture of several new buildings and interpretive
centers and realignment of the Park Road Spruce Four Access EA
Backcountry Management Plan for Denali's Additions
North Access Study
Gravel Acquisition Plan renewal
